I/we are in constant diolog with Mick, he has be a mind blowing asset, and a big thanks goes to him.

We hope to get the car up the hill on both days with the minimum amount of fuss/problems, I first got involved with the car and John/Phil at Llandow earlier this year, but have been taking a interest in the car since it went turbo, No I am not a farmer, my day job is a aerospace engineer.

Well after 4 events, we are slowly moving forward, ( even though the times may not suggest it) a lot of advances are being made behind the scenes, and my wife is starting to come to terms with the fact she infact is not seeing a lot more of me than when I was overseas.

1st event was at prescott, where the car would not pull above 8,000rpm (fuel starvation) on the saturday, come the sunday after spending time looking into the fuel system, finding a couple of issues that could not be explained, we had no fuel starvation anymore, and a car that pulled above 8,000rpm, but all this highlited was a 3rd gear that was no longer of any use, so during the week 3rd gear was replaced in anticipation of the first trip of the year to Shelsley Walsh.

2nd event was at Shelshley Walsh, where on the first practice run, the extra torque we were now producing due to the free reving of the engine and the turbos now starting to work, decided the clutch was no longer upto it, and duly spat it out saying enough, so it was back to the workshop again, to come back another day.

3rd event was at Loton Park, After the 1st practice run it became as clear as the sunny blue sky above our heads that we could no longer delay the renabling of the traction control system, but then we found that the system had been disabled within the ecu software, this has become what is now a growing problem due to the fact that the gentleman who has access to it, seems reluctent to give us access to it, but the day carried on and after a few tweeks to the chassis (with the help of Mike) John said he was happy to give it a go on the sunday.
Well the 2 runs went well, john was entertaining the marshalls, and after the second run we realised we had finished 1 place outside the top twelve run off, which in no way had we even considered, so it was a big boost for the team of people putting in all the work.

John, Phil, Jan, Mike and every one else who helped out.

Event 4 was a return to Shelsley for a round of the british and midland championships 5/6 June, the day got of to a hectic start, with John`s usual mode of transport being unavailable, we had to dig the trailer out of the barn and effect repairs so we could use it, but by 9am we were on the move,

By the time we arrived and got setup, (Phil, Jan and ollie had set up camp prior to our arrival) we got a practice run in the first batch straight after the lunch break.
John approached the line and stalled at the first drop of the clutch, second time round he got of the line, but all was not well, coming out of top S, on to the climb to the finish, 80 something over the line, it turned out that a small fire behind the seat had started, when he got the car back to the paddock and we carried out a investigation we found the hose from the base of the oil tank to the main feed for the sump had failed thus spraying hot oil over the electric fuel pump causing a short/fire (which was delt with at the top paddock) causing the display to go haywire, due to the accessabilty to effect repairs, (a big thanks to Kieth Harris for the hose and cable which enabled us to effect repairs), at this time we could not start the engine and there fore still did not know if it was the display or the ecu that was at fault.

Follow on from post #36
The remainder of the w/e went well, and yet again we finished 13 fastest overall, A great w/e was had by all, and yet again a lot was learnt about the car, so yet again another small step forward.
Looking forward to Loton park, where we hope to learn even more.

John, John, Phil, and of course Jan. (Supplier of times, coffee, sandwiches, and muffins) also a big thanks to Mike yet again, (hope he does not get fedup of me asking for his advice)
