I feel exactly the same way, tight cropped images have their place but not often.

Is that where the Mythbusters from the Discovery Channel do their stuff. Is that the Oakland Bay Bridge?

Yes, Local Porsche club holds their autocross events on the old Alameda naval airbase on the runway that looks out to San Francisco Skyline.

I'd trade some of our great weather for full schedule of hillclimbs. In lawsuit crazy California we have one true hillclimb and its a 8 hour drive for me to get there.

Eight hours driving from here will get you to every hill climb venue in Europe even with my old cronk of an LDV Convoy. You should seriously think of emigrating...............

Even here in Vic you would get to all in a 3hr drive though you will be pushing it to get to bathurst id say 9hrs .....
