Prescott: Thanks from Mick Harriman!

Mick does not do internet but has asked me to thank all those who fixed his alternator main lead on the sunday in the blistering heat at Prescott. He took a class win to show his gratitude!

This was a tricky repair as we needed a blow torch of all things to solder on the large eyelet to the cable.

Jos Goodyear jumped to the rescue, others were sent on errands to find stuff, and Jos recalled George Bleesdale having a blow lamp years ago.

Too true, as Geoge handed it over happy to help, still in his trailer!

Lots of helpers and one very happy Audi pilot.

Good hillclimb stuff with good banter and a better result.

I counted 14 relaxed supervisors and one hard working Jos at one point, so about the right ratio of Indian and Chiefs...

A big Thanks from Mick to everyone who helped.
Jos is making up a robust lead probably as I type.

Graham, on behalf of Mick.

My blowlamp, made in Sweden probably before the war should really be in a museum. The thought of filling it with petrol and putting a match to it scares the life out of me, so I keep a soldering iron in the toolbox and if I need to heat it, simply put it on the gas ring in the van.

So it should - they're supposed to run on PARAFFIN!

..........and if the thought didn't scare the life out of you, the bang as the match hit the petrol would finish the job off!
