I would be interested in knowing who is going to define Super Mod Prod, because a time will arrive, sooner than later when somebody thinks they are getting a raw deal and wants the class modifying again, as appears to be the case now. Mess with the rules at your own risk because nothing is surer than someone coming up with a mod they want incorporating and will do it with ouit consulting the ever thicker Blue Book. Sports Libre rules.

Anyway, I have a quick Category question - will cars in roadgoing classes be mandated to have cages in 2010? ta J |

"Other than the provisions of Section C(b), I.46-69 and the specific Category regulations below, modifications are free."
Mercy please, this must rate with some of the great "clarifications" in history "Peace in our time" |

Nothing to stop events and championships running a roadgoing class or classes within the sports Libre category. Just because the category doesn't require the cars to be road legal doesn't stop the event having classes that do.
If you want your event / championship to have it, lobby the organisers / co-ordinator. Can't see how the book needs to be changed.

OOOkkkaaaaay.
Havn't got my blue book yet and that's probably a good thing. Hope to start next year for the first time at Harewood with my wife's car (yes she knows) and after reading this thread I think I'll turn up asking the scrutineers if my air freshener's OK !! As an outsider looking in, I have to say that a retrograde move in a regulatory way seems a waste of competitors time and money. Why allow competitors on a limited budget to spend their hard-earned on expensive modifications and then legislate against those mods? If a specific club interprets and enforces those regs differently why not allow that to continue? There must be plenty of competitors that only use their local venue and have no intention of racing nationally ? If you want compete nationally then , by definition, you would be at the front in terms of performance, budgetary expenditure and profile within the sport, and would expect stricter enforcement. Sorry to bat on but I've been looking at the bhp/ton figures on 205 gti's and it looks like I've got to lose 60kg or gain 10hp to match them lmao. Can't see that happening with the new regs. If indeed they are new,or old,or altered, maybe,perhaps...

these would be odd events and not a full championship. Also visiting championships could cause problems if they do not have consistent regs applied. |
