RIP Mr 2t4t
I was saddened to hear of the passing of my friend Richard Dunn at the weekend. Although he had went through a difficult time over the last few years, mental health, we should all remember that he was the one that took our cars to the world with his 2t4t site and you tube. You will be missed. this is copied from FB.
Richard Dunn Hi all Georgia here. i see that you have all heard, here is a breakdown of what happened. Richard took ill on Tuesday, worse on Wednesday, spoke to my mum on Thursday, said he had a chest infection. I rang him back but did not get a reply, I thought he had seen the doctor as he knew what he had. He rang me Friday morning to say he felt so ill he had not been able to get to the doctors, I drove straight over and took him to see the GP, she saw him as an emergency and sent us straight to emergency admissions unit (EAU) at Russell's Hall hospital 11am. After some hanging around as the computer systems were down - which Richard offered to fix of course - we were seen by triage and he was put straight on oxygen. after a day of sitting in EAU going up levels of doctor/consultant, he was finally taken up to Critical Care at 6.45 pm on Friday. I waited till he was settled in and left the hospital at 8.30pm - the consultant had told me that he was very ill and they would do everything they could. They rang me Saturday morning 6.47am to say that during the night 2.30 am they had to put him on a ventilator and had put him in an induced sleep - they had asked if he wanted they to ring me but he had said no. I went back to the hospital and stayed there till 1.30pm returned home then they called again at 8pm to ask me to come over again. Consultant told me and his Dad and Brother that he was unlikely to make the night. They told me that he couldn't hear me and as I knew that he had the nurse by his side all night, I went home. On Sunday, I rang 7.30am and he had made it though. At 9am after doctors rounds, they called me to go over and his dad and brother were contacted. When we were all there they told us that his liver and kidneys had failed and that the medications were keeping him artificially alive. They needed to stop as there was no chance of him surviving. We agreed and at 12.15 with myself and his dad by his side, they turned off the blood pressure meds and turned down the ventilator. By 12 23 he had gone. Thank you all for your messages of support, I will post again here when we have made the funeral arrangements. Georgia |

RIP Richard, his camera skills and quailty of footage were a revelation (imho) compared to anything I had seen before of hillclimbing.
I'm glad I am a lager drinker as my friend who drinks cider always got a can of his nicked off him by Richard when we went to Val Des Terres. Thoughts to all his family and friends from a grateful enthusiast in Jersey |

I am deeply saddened by the early death of Richard Dunn . Richard made an enormous contribution to Hillclimbing with his filming and DVDs. The amount of recording that he and Georgia did was invaluable and is a lasting tribute to his life. He will be greatly missed by myself and many others.
