Road class 1B question on ITB fitting
I run a Clio in this class and if I was to fit itb's you need to remove some of the slam panel so is this allowed or a grey area ! (ie only questioned if you win anything lol )

it doesn't change the silhoette so would be ok on that point, I personally wouldn't protest and i'm in the same class as for me it's 'non' structural but i don't think you are allowed to alter the structure..................is there a way of modifying it?

I also thought that you couldn't alter the footprint of the car as well as the silhouette!

class 1b
IMO that would be ok,many of the Peugeot 205`s that run in class 1b on carbs remove some if not all the front slam panel for clearance, I ran in class 1b for 5 years with a Polo G40 , but am currently building an ex time attack clio 182 for the Mod Prod class. Its BRILLIANT no mot/tax, no interior ,no tyre buffing, i think the main thing to watch out for is "dont beat em and you`ll be fine" Rich

isn't that the case 'within wheel hub centres' front slam panel would not come into this surely? As it's 'induction' that you are planning does this also not come under 'Bulkheads and/or inner wings may be modified to permit the clearance of the induction system. This shall be understood to include air induction ducting, manifolding, trumpets/ram pipes for engine carburetion or fuel injection system only. A maximum clearance dimension of 7.75cm will be allowed for any protrusion, but only in the engine compartment' |
