roll cage regs??
hi guys, i run my car in modified road going class(c2) and currently use a six point bolt in cage with a rear diagonal, my question is- am i allowed to attach tags to the existing main hoop of the cage to allow me to bolt into the original seatbelt pillar mounts to give me some extra rigidity? any help much appreciated, thanks

Does your ROPS have an MSA or FIA rollcage certificate?
If it does then modifications are likely to invalidate that certification. However - if your car is running in the ROAD GOING categories then there is no requirement for ROPS. The MSA have also clarified that non-compliant ROPS is permitted in the road going categories. The only restriction on ROPS in road going is (S) 11.3 "Roll cages must not accept or assist any direct suspension loads". I would say that bolting your cage to the seat belt pillar mounts would not be a problem (unless a club's or championship supplementary regulations specify otherwise). |
