RS2000 MK6

My project for the last 5 years.
Still ongoing over this winter and we will be attending hill climbs next year.
Thought it was time to get on the the tarmac rather than watching hillclimbing like I have been doing for the last 15 years.
Hope to make a few friends around the climbs in 2012,this will be driven by myself and my son.

As sprinted by my son before selling up~MLRS series

No its FWD,the 4x4`s have weak transfer boxes that like to give way too often.Yea it looks shiney in the pics lol, hasn`t seen the road for 6 years, been dry stored always, spose its one way to keep a ford from not rusting away.

Due to car cutting on fast right handers,I`ll be fitting a swirl pot and pumps to sort it.
Also ditching the spare wheel well and tigging over the aperature.

Abit of an update on the car - Im Darren and will be joint driving the RS with my old man.. We been very busy on the RS since his last post..

Removing all the sound deadning

The bag weighed in at 7kg once everything was removed.

We had a cobra seat mount kit when we started out but it weighed a ton so we binned it off and had some bars welded in for the side mounts. Also coated the floor black after the sound deadning removal.

After a few trackdays the car started to get major fuel surge so we had a swirl pot fitted and external fuel pump in the spare wheel well.

sealed to meet the regs

Inside pretty much finished now maybe more later in the year but enough to get us going..

Next issue was the front bumper, being low it was abit of a pain to get on/off the trailer. So a neat quick release set up was fitted.

Anything we could strip out to save abit of weigh was done.
Bonnet deskinned..
