Yes agreed, I see that now. The portion of the score that is based upon the competitors time won't make a lot of difference. The class position is the main determining factor.

The scoring seems to favour the faster cars because there is a one element of the scoring which is wrt fastest overall time. That seems unfair. Have I interpreted it correctly?

As regards the "Seniors" table, the scoring is a total mystery.
The less people who understand the better

Yep, it certainly does favour the "faster" cars, i..e. overall, not those faster in class. Personally, I was overjoyed to be able to buy a 4 grand car that I can barely control rather than, say, spend 10 grand on an engine just to prove I really wasn't up to it.

I fully appreciate the reasons behind the class-based championships where the top-runners are proving what can be done with tiny cars within the regs. I just wonder how many people really have the commitment/time/knowledge/connections/money/legal skills? that they can truly compete in such championships.

Re. the "Seniors" table: by definition it is a mystery. Even though some of us might be able to do the sums required few of us have the memory to finish the calculations.

Yes untill you win the class, and the guy in the faster car wins his, then you are stuffed.

Dunno about the Goretex, but I’m certainly packing the long-johns. Also, a chance to get your money’s worth from the triple-layer Nomex (keeps the heat in as well as it keeps the heat out).

Snow chains possibly are not required - Yorks gets it much worse than Lancs but this is early in the year. A shovel has been known to required to ensure the event runs, but that was the between Christmas & New year event & it was probably at Baitings rather than Scammonden. My bet on BTDBTDBTD is someone on A45’s or modern equivalent.

I'm on my third attempt at convincing my budget stazi that this is a good idea.
It's not working.
When I've spent 10 grand on the focus, it'll all be my fault though...

(As if I'd admit to that figure anyway )

Believe me, spending money on our sport is a mere fraction of divorce costs &, sadly, the former might be causaly related to the latter.

Hence, my advice is to ensure than all bills for motors etc should use no less than 256-bit encryption - mostly uncrackable before the end of the universe.

Thanks Craig, just checked email & there it was.

I then tried to upload it to regs here & it didn't complain, though I couldn't actually find it on the regs bit. A search found it, but still wouldn't let me download it, though I'm sure it will sort itself out given time.

P.S. Anyone interested in marshalling can earn a tenner on this one.

I have tried the same. We will probably have 2 sets online or none at all.
I think that they need Moderation before they become available.
