Absolutely right Fyrth. it was a scrut I have never seen before so could be the case though I wasnt asked to prove my rear light was working and although I spoke to several other competitors about it no-one else said they had been pulled. As you say, 'in France, in date'. Which now begs the question, does any-one want to buy a set of used 3" Willans belts in red, in excellent condition.

Yes I have had the same "circuit" scrutineers raise the same before, but after a gentle reminder of the blue book rules for Speed events they go quiet and on one occasion he we reluctantly went over to his colleague, were seen to thumb through the book and he set his assistant over with the sticker.

Red faces all round at Thoresby by the sound of it.

Nottingham Sports Car Club's desire was to use more local (IE cheaper) scrutineers.

Cheaper for the club but ptentially more expensive for the competitor if he went away and bought some new belts!
