Shelsley Walsh book

I came across a very old book in my local book shop. It was called Shelsley Walsh, it is in black and white and printed on the front cover it says introduced by raymong Mays. Im prety sure the book dates back to the 1930s but i could be wrong as i was in a rush. the owner of the shop was not there but i could find out the cost of the book and more details if this was of interest to anyone. Cheers Rob

Shelsley Walsh by C. A. N. May written in the war years and published by Foulis on war ration paper post war.
If it has the dust jacket it is worth considerably more. I have one rare example of such with the other copies without.
The rob dog sellers price them around the £40 mark although it is too much. A good deal is circa £10-12 for a copy. Well worth adding to your collection or even a start to your collection if you haven't one.

There were a few more in the same series by Foulis. Split Seconds by Raymond Mays and Wheelspin & More Wheelspin by C. A. N. May.
There was also Specials by John Bolster and Speed Camera, a book specialising in motor sport photography, by E. S. Tompkins.

Any of the above are worth buying at the right money as they always sell on.
The Wheelspin range are best used for propping up a wonky coffee table unless you are really into classic trialling but don't let that detract from what a good all rounder Austen May really was.
