Silhouette Clarification?
If i try and explain what i want to do.....can you tell me if this will affect the below:
Body (including aerodynamics) 11.4.1. Silhouette of the vehicle must remain unaltered in construction, dimension and material. The silhouette will be taken in the condition in which the car competes (convertible closed cars competing with the hood or top not erected shall have the silhouette determined in that condition). I want to remove the rear Hatch from my car and enclose the sides and back in perspex (ala ferrari dino) when competeing in speed events, but will still allow me to fix the rear hatch in original position for homologated circuit racing where the original glass must be used. Is the Silhoette just a side view? |

A 246 Dino has a vertical rear window, surely your current set up will be far more 'slippy' and aerodynamically correct. However, I think it will be ok silhouette wise..........

11.4 relates to roadgoing cars. Surely yours is in ModProd?
If its modProd you'll be fine. 12.5.1. The silhouette as seen in side elevation must remain unaltered above the wheel hub centres of the original car, except for engine bonnet/cover and boot lid/rear deck.

darrians are like the monte carlo , aerodynmic testing has proved a faired in one is better , ie like std .
of course if you were altering it so you could sneak in wing in there , it might be a different story . whats wrong with a GRP tailgate ? |
