Slicks in mod prod
As a relative newcomer to competition I am not clear as to whether it is permissable to use slicks on a tintop running in modprod or whatever the MSA choose to call it nowadays.

Thanks, but I take it that as it would technically be no longer road legal I would have to get the car log booked?

But of course, getting a log book is no hassle at all (except the cost).

One of the Scrutes at Loton pondered this question earlier this season - he went and checked and decided a logbook was not required if the car was road legal, though I can't remember if the car in question was running slicks. However, if you are in that class slicks are allowed so I don't see a problem. Having said that, a logbook is relatively cheap and easy to obtain (my car was done at an event) and I think it both adds value to the car and covers all bases.

9.1.7. All cars competing in Hill Climbs or Sprints must
be presented for scrutineering with a valid MSA Log Book or an MSA Recognised Vehicle Identity Document unless the car is currently licensed for use on the public highway and is competing in a road legal condition
