That is exactly as I read it, just puzzled why I have never been pulled up over the numberplate.

Aaaaah the Blue book and peoples interpretations strike again lol........I ran last year with slicks in Road legal trim :/

There was a chap who ran for a few years in mod prod in a 205 without a log book but had to run 1b's to keep it running 'road legal'.

Had he tried to use slicks I suspect he would have been asked for his log book.

I got picked up at Three Sisters for not having a log book whilst running tarmac rally slicks. As those aren't road legal tyres the car wasn't in road legal condition.

Fortunately the scrutineer was kind enough to let me run at the event on the basis that I would see him the following week to get the car logbooked. He would have done it on the day but had only just back off holiday and hadn't got any of the forms with him.

Do you put your timing strut on before scrutineering? If not, that might explain it.

fitting the timing strut which you need to do to be scrutineered would render the car not legal for the road even if you leave the number plate on

At least one competitor was pulled about this at Harewood last meeting
