I've been told that another major motorsport team is on the verge of withdrawing, but my reliable source won't tell me who it is.
This recession really is biting hard.

I wonder if AIG would be interested in sponsoring motor sport at grass roots - a lot cheaper than £14 million per season. I could arrange to distribute £1.4 million evenly and take just a meagre 10% for my troubles.
Anyone got their number?

Williams did say at their lauch they felt they were in a strong financial position for this year - we've all heard that before though!

As AIG were effectively nationalised by the American government last autumn, regrettably I doubt there will be anything coming your way Steve

Might be worth getting this to sponser the UK motorsport scene!
125m Deal Fits For Reds United are out to land a new £125million shirt sponsorship deal - with Saudi Telecom favourites to get their name on the famous shirt. AIG yesterday confirmed they would not be renewing their £19m-a-year sponsorship deal at the end of next season. The firm has collapsed in the credit crunch and had to be propped up by the US taxpayer. Saudi Telecom, the leading provider of telecommunications in Saudi Arabia, have no such problems. They are desperate to increase their influence with United, who are massive in the Middle East. Saudi Telecom already have a £15m, five-year deal with the club to use United’s branding with their products inside their own country. But the prospective shirt sponsorship deal will dwarf AIG’s and be worth £25million-a-year over five years. A United spokesman said: “[We are] exploring the possibility of a shirt sponsor for the 2010-11 season. The club is in dialogue with a select number of top companies worldwide and has so far received sufficient interest to be confident it can improve on its £19m annual partnership with AIG.” United have also made contact with Indian financial services corporation Sahara. Staff reporter, The Sun Reds assistant manager Mike Phelan reveals Cristiano Ronaldo's substitute cameo against Derby County was designed to rebuild the winger's goalscoring form and confidence. "From that point of view it worked for us," he said. "It was his first penalty for a while. That’s good for him and we hope now his confidence will be up there again." The Daily Express salutes Sir Alex Ferguson, after the United manager guided his side to yet another major cup final with victory over Derby County. “He told us that some players never get to a cup final in their whole careers and that we needed to pull up our socks after the first leg," revealed John O'Shea. |

As a taxpayer I would very irked if one of the so called banks what I am bailing out was still giving money to a bunch of obscenely overpaid prima donnas. Dance band on the Titanic springs to mind As you can tell I am not a football fan or an admirer of the finance industry Hasta ( ah thats so much better )
