St Goueno Tech Regs etc
Those of you already having competed in France will know that the vehicle safety equipment requirements are much higher than in the UK and Ireland.
Out of respect for the FFSA regulations visiting cars taking part in the Saint Goueno and La Pommeraye Masters events have to carry a few upgrades as listed below. I realise this may put some off entering but I promise you the priceless memories from these events will stay with you forever, plus you and your car will be that bit safer for the future. To enter Saint Goueno and la Pommeraye Masters is simple, below is a guide of driver and vehicle requirements. Sportivement John http://www.hillclimbfrance.co.uk/ Driver documentation A valid driving licence. A valid competition licence of any grade issued by the MSA. European Health Insurance card (EHIC). Clothing HANS device to be worn, post 1977 cars only. Race overalls to current FIA standard. Helmet to current FIA standard. Gloves to FIA standard. Drivers of single seaters & sports racers must wear a balaclava. Competition car The car must comply with the hillclimb technical regulations of the UK or Ireland *. * Sand Racing type cars are not permitted. In addition to the above the car must have the following safety equipment; Fire extinguisher Closed, sports convertable and 7esque cars. . . 2kg hand held minimum. Also a rain light is required as overtaking of slower cars does occasionally happen due to the length of the hills

Licence Regulations for France
Hi All ,
Have just been advised that the french are tightening up on licences . We now need a National A licence backed up by a Visa from MSA authorising us to compete abroad . Apparently the latter is free and we just need to call the MSA to get one |

I shall be ringing them as soon as they open Steve. I think we have been lucky over the years and we have been getting away with a lot of things that the Frenchies aren't allowed to do and it's well worth the effort of an extra 'phone call.....
Edit, just spoke to MSA, took all of 30 seconds to sort a Visa to compete in France...,. Last edited by redturner37; 09-03-12 at 09:07. |
