My First Post!!

I have just booked Curborough for a shakedown, before my first event @ Shelsley. Spoke to one of the Curborough officials, and booked a morning for £270.00 (Max 5 cars). I have 3 cars confirmed at the moment, and maybe 2 others. Let me know if you are interested, and i can contact the other 2 to see if they are definite.

when i booked 3 sister i just rang the number on the website. Bit strange how it worked, they said they didnt take bookings well in advance, you were to ring "towards the end of the week for the following week"!!! I did just that and they they were booked up and i ended up booking a date about 4 weeks away?!?!

I just turned up, no sound test or anything. You do have to have a licence though (nat b speed / hillclimb is fine)

I had been planning to get some practice in before my first ever sprint there, but as mentioned earlier, the track was not in the right layout. and they cant change it easily as its all tyres marking out the track, not cones.

It was a bit unnerving how there was no shewards out on the track but it was fine for me as there was only me out.

all in all not bad for £50 but not great.

I would be interested to hear how you get on @ 3-Sisters. Its my local track and a potentially useful venue for testing. Haven't tested there for 6 years.

Let me know when you will be going. If I happen to be home that day then I'll pop along.

Craig

A small update: I had a word with the Circuit Organisers at Anglesey yesterday with regards to testing and was pretty suprised on the outcome. Test days are planned all year, the day before all major Race meets.

Cost: £135 for half a day or £180 for a full day.

Next test day is Friday 2nd July then 30th July which i hope to attend............anyone want to join me?

Hi
Did you ask about license requirements. Race circuit testing usually requires a race license (as opposed to a speed license) particularly as in this case the test day will be awash with circuit racing cars who all have experience of driving in the company of other high speed machinery. Might be worth checking before turning up/booking.

hope this helps

Richard

I've tested at Mallory before on a Weds morning, and it was quite an eye opener. Only had Non Race National B at the time, and they let me play.
I ran a novice cross on the rear, just to be on the safe side.

And I'm glad I fitted a rear view mirror (albeit a suction one) because they were all over the back of me, all of the time. So make sure you know which side to let them past, and try not to get in the way, because as opposed to an everyday track session, most of the guys running are there to 'practice' usually for a forthcoming race there, and they dont take kindly to having to lift off.
