Tow-in for scrub

Is it well known, or a bad idea, hush hush or ?????
Set about 1/4 inch tow in on the front, in order to scrub the front tyres hence get some heat into them as you drive up the hill.
Obviously the heat will be more the higher you climb. Turn in at Fallow, the semicircle, top Ess gets moe grip?
Is it worth it? Guess straight line speed is compromised a tiny bit.

I've tried both toe in and toe out on different cars and on radial and cross ply tyres. In the end its a matter of personal taste I think. For me the instability that you get in single wheel bump when using toe out outweighs the sharp feel on turn in, so I use just a very little toe in.

Obviously what works best will vary from car to car and is affected by the suspension characteristics designed in; my thoughts above come from trying several different combinations and is perhaps best described as least wrong!!

Depends wether your front or rear wheel drive, plus if you have adjustable camber and if so where you have it set. From experience i would say don't go to radical on any aspect, if you've got enough toe in to make any sort of heat you will seriously compromise straight line speed.
