UK Visit
I am coming to the UK in July to to go to Good Wood, I would love to see a round of the British Hill Climb Championship, I see there is around at Bourley Bay on 17th and 18th of July, this would probably fit into our travel plans, could someone tell me where this is please?.
I have been competing in Hillclimbs in Australia on and off for a long time, but have been constantly for 7 or 8 years, firstly in Clubman class and for 5 years or so Formula Libre 1300 class. From videos I have seen you have some fantastic cars competing and I would dearly love to see them. pete |

Hi Pete
Bouley Bay is one of the Channel Island Rounds held on the Beautiful Island of Jersey Along with Val de Terres on Guernsey it makes up the Island trip for all of those competing in the British Hillclimb Championship and the many local competitors on the Islands!!!! It is not the easiest or cheapest round to get to but it is definately worth the effort and would compliment your trip to Goodwood very well indeed Hope you enjoy your visit Neville |

Pete
Just to clarify the dates, the Bouley Bay event is on 14th July and Val des Terres is on 16th July. They are single day events.

Depending when you arrive - I assume for the Festival of Speed - the following might be of interest.
25 and 26 June there is a meeting at Prescott, near Cheltenham which isn't a "National" but will have a lot of top calibre cars / drivers. The same weekend as the festival of speed (which runs from Thursday to Sunday) there is a national meeting Sat + Sun at Harewood near Harrogate in Yorkshire - so you could fit both in with some careful planning! And there are a couple of club meeting - Loton Park near Shrewsbury on 9th and 10th July, and on 17th July at Gurston Down near Salisbury. All of these are a bit easier to get to than the channel islands! Cheers W |

25 and 26 June at Prescott is the Midland Hillclimb Championship meeting. In the unlimited capacity class you should have Trevor Willis, Deryk Young, Ash Mason and the Coley Bros. There should be a chap called Andy McBeath in the 2 litre class. Now where have I heard of him before. Likely to be John Chalmers and Alex Summers in that class too. Will Hall in the 1600's I expect. I base that on the entry list which I have on the desk for the similar meeting at Loton Park this weekend at which Wilko and I are commentating. We are doing the same at Loton on the 9th and 10th July.

And if you're interested in pre-war cars, the Vintage Sports-Car Club has a two day hillclimb at Loton Park on 16/17 July.

Don't forget the Dick Mayo Sprint and centenary celebrations for Bristol Motor Club at Castle Combe on 25th June. You could easily back-to-back with Prescott on the Sunday as they're only an hour apart. There's the sprint on Saturday, followed by a big party Saturday night with beer, hog roast and a band, then nurse the hangover at Prescott.

Thank you all for your replies there are certainly some options, I would like nto think I could get to Bourley Bay on the 14th as Sue would also like to go to Paris, and as we leave for Hong Kong on the 19th it may work in well, thanks again.
