Ultima GTR

I stopped hillclimbing about 2 years ago after the Gould GR-37 was sold to Roy Napier.

I then bought an Ultima GTR kit, and I have just finished it about 2 months ago. The bad weather since then has meant that I have only done about 200 road miles so far.

The car has a new 7-litre LS7 engine (V8) that was dyno'd at 605 HP and about 570 lb ft before installation in the chassis. The transaxle is a G50 from a Porsche.

I am not sure whether it would be a bit of a handful on the hills next season, but I intend to take it on track, to get used to it, and then maybe start off with a sprint or two....

Here are a few pictures.
Happy New Year to all.

Regards
Kelvin

(If you are interested, there are a lot more pictures that I took during the build at www.jouhar.com/ultima

Very nice. I did wonder about the project as we hadn't heard anything since you announced it way back.

Hopefully see it out one day.

Would be ideal for Goodwood, Lydden, Colerne etc.

Well if two supercharged Vipers can do it, then Gurston has to be a goer....

You must take this out on some hills! How about the Isle of Man classic in April.......3 road events on public roads....wide enough for the 'larger' car!

GTR

I also have a GTR with a dry sumped 720bhp chevy installed with a six speed G50 transmission, believe me this thing with 640 lb ft of torque is a handfull any time never mind in the wet. My great pal Neil Gould did a huge amount of the work on building the car and between us took it an awfull lot of time and hard work. I have only done less than 400 miles in the car to date. Perhaps an Ultima class may be on the cards !.
