westfield XTR4

Hi

What class would one of these run in? is this a modprod car for eg or could it run with the regular westfields?

It came with the VAG 1.8T fitted, but also with 1300 busa in XTR2-guise. I am wondering if they would be considered to be the same chassis? Could you for eg run a XTR4 in atmospheric configuration in the under 2L class?

Cheers

Rob

Check out the WSCC championship for their take on things. I suspect that both could run in Road-going Kit Cars (assuming they were registered etc) or Modified Kit Cars if running on slicks. They would also be OK in Sports Libre again assuming that they meet the safety criteria for this class.

You could Supercharge the 1300 Busa XTR2 version and still run in the Under 2 litre Class but not so sure about a "normally aspirated 1.8 Audi engined version" as this might not be permitted.

cheers steve - just called westfield and apparently they have only made 'about' 10 XTR4s so that might be the deciding point of where the car might sit, but they have made many more XTR2s

do you think you could argue that the XTR2 and XTR4 are the same chassis? in my mind its similar to saying a 1.3 and a 1.8L fiesta

Hi Robert,

I run the WSCC Speed Series Championship. As a Westfield car you could run these either in our roadgoing or modified classes. They would both fit into class F (roadgoing) or class H (slicks). Championship regs are here.

We always put motorcycle engined cars into the higher spec road cars. Also our cc cut off for motorcycle engines is 1150cc, so hence they both end up in the same class. Also in our championship you can uprate power and still stay in the same class. As to which class you end up on the day, that would depend on the club running the event. The volumes of both have been low and I am not sure either would fit into the 20 per year catagory. So as Steve says you may end up in Sports Libre.

Not sure if you have bought one, but I actually have an XTR4 that will be for sale soon if interested.

Nick
