I was tempted by "an orange" but felt that this was a little obvious and somewhat lacked charm and symmetry.

I therefore suggest "a minister of marshals". A collective offering alliterative attraction, alternative possibilites of interpretation and being of pleasant metre.

How about a Host (as in angels), or am I getting a bit eclesiastical(?) Then you could have a host on a post!

I agree with "Saviour" we can't do with out them.
Rob "baker" does that mean a stop at Crossing several times a hill climb weekend
