What's the difference
Hi
This may seem an obvious and silly question to some, but please bear with me. I know that the Leader's Championship runs at the same meetings as the British Championship, but what's the difference between the two Championships? Sevaun |

Entering the Leaders Championship
So where do I go to get details/regs etc.. for the Leaders Championship? I've Googled Tony Fletchers Speed Championships Ltd, but come up with nothing (quite surprisingly)

Regulations will be released this weekend at the Championship Awards Presentation in booklet form. I am hoping to arrange for a downloadable copy of each championship in pdf format to be available here.

that they are finally leaving the 19th century behind. Thanks for publishing the events. The cost, regs (classes), scoring, entry forms, results etc. would be kinda nice. What odds on a website or share on someone else's?

In the meantime the 2009 regs are available from the Doune hillclimb site here. That might give you an idea of the format for the Leaders while you wait for this years details.

The problem lies mainly in the old fashioned methods used by organisers in preparing entry forms and regs. Anyone would think that some clubs had shares in 'olde worlde' printing companies. Stencils and old Roneo machiness aren't far off the mark at some clubs judging by the printed output. |

Thanks for that Rich & Fireblade – genuinely.
What follows is not a dig at you, more an opportunity for “Speed Championships Ltd.” to get some free sales & marketing in front of 1,000 potential customers. How many people entered the Leaders last year? Would you have a class breakdown of numbers? The cost was £64 last year – is it index linked, i.e. will it be cheaper this year? The categories/classes have all been thrown up in the air for 2010. When will you (the organisers) give us a clue as to which variant you will be running – before or after the first event? I thought hiding the regs at the Doune site was pretty damned clever – where should we look next year? I’m not being gratuitously provocative, I’m being intentionally so. It’s an invitation for the organisers to prove they are not dinosaurs. O.K. maybe they do have difficulty with this web thingy, but surely some readers of the forum bump into them sometimes? So, come on guys & gals – you know you can do it.

Dennis, you are absolutely right in all you say. I do not find it provocative at all.
I have worked, and am working in businesses that provide their dealerships full access to all their information on password protected sites, and along with a number of other forum members who work in similar businesses seek to publish our championship material in a similar way via this site and others. It is as Fireblade says, but worse, organisers protect their information as if it is something that requires confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements, not something that should be entirely public and open to all in the hope that the more that see it, the more will enter. Still, slowly but surely we are getting there. (I have momentarily suppressed my facetiousness gene)
