Yeah, right. Not the immediate future that's a sure fact.
Would like to believe it was in a way and although very interested in Jnr's electric project I am as yet unconvinced.

Lets not forget that back in the 60s we were given all these predictions as to the way technology would affect our lives and the changes that would be made.
2008 seemed an unattainable year seemingly light years away.
Some of these predictions have come true and some haven't and those that haven't are from the world of transportation.
In fact we have gone backwards. From 1967 we had Concorde and supersonic flight that could be indulged by the consumer from 1976 onwards. Now sadly gone.
It was quicker to travel by train from Manchester to London in 1899 than it is now.
Far from the supposed ideal that by now we would be having holidays in orbit to far flung galaxies and holidays on the moon, we are living in inefficient Victorian house and travel on knackered trains.
A long way from the levitational cars that have been promised from some nutters in California for the last 30 years.
Not that I ever believed the science fiction view of my childhood comics but in reality not that much has changed except the cost.

The first electric powered vehicle was unveiled in 1828 whereas Herr Diesel waited until 1892 .

All this talk about petrol and electricity powered vehicles, has anyone given a thought to the steam car. I am reliably informed that a good Stanley Steamer will outdrag a Porsche 911 up to about 100mph.
