Winter Series

To stop the rust setting in I wonder if anyone would partake in say a 3 round Winter series ? It was really popular in my karting days .
Just an idea !!!!

Hmm, i ve often wonderd this but i guess venues might need a rest (if its agricultural) + most officials are volunteers and probably wont want to spend the day in the rain and cold. It would however probably mean that the wet tyres get used or even a chance to get worn out

There are some clubs who have organised Boxing Day events, for example. However there are lots of things against it:
~ weather
~ short amount of daylight
~ drivers (& families) want a rest
~ finances / the wallet needs a rest
~ cars often being overhauled.

Are there any such events going these days? There used to be one at Daitings Dam.

re

I well remember a club organising 'plum pudding' races at Brands Hatch on Boxing Day in the early 70s. I entered for 4 years on the trot and on every occasion it snowed so bad they had to cancel when we got there.....

The Mallory website lists something similar for this years Boxing Day, SDCC have the Boxing Day bash at Curborough, but that is more a track day and last year got shelved under 2ft of snow.

I think it would be fun. I have plenty of 15 inch snow tyres I could use on the Westfield. Rallies run in snow. Why not Hill Climbs???

Isn't it called the Trophy Andros?

Don't think I'd want to compete in a Winter Series I have in the past been soaked and frozen in the middle of summer at.......Wiscombe, Gurston, Loton, Doune, Shelsley, Prescott, Debden, Brooklands, Silverstone.

Might as well go Sailing I'm always dry and warm in my Drysuit !!
