ROPS (again - sorry!)

I am mulling over buying a single seater and the whole ROPS thing seems to have reared it's head a lot.....if I was looking at an old Formula car from the 1980s that was issued a speed log book in 2014 can I be confident that the ROPS thing is ok?

Best you ask the MSA if they have certification for the car you have in mind, rather ironic a lot of historic FF's circuit racing are not compliant and not questioned

I contacted the MSA and within a week I had a copy of the ROPS certificate in my hand. This was for an 82 car. Most Royales, VDs and Reynards of the period had a certificate but I am told that a few got forgotten because the manufacturers forgot to send the paperwork in.....

If thinking of the 1100cc class.
I'd imagine most are now sorted!
I know mine is. And loads of Jedi's are now compliant

I take it the fact it has a hillclimb log book from 2014 makes no difference?

It's on a well known auction site that can't be named here and the item is - 192326017866
Looks like the car was log booked by someone just down the road from me at Carnforth in Lancs! If anyone knows the car that would be handy too.....

My car had a log book from 1997 best to check it out, or budget to get it corrected, the good news is if you have to correct it you can use a smaller tube size from next year.

Just down the road in Cumbrian terms......I am just over an hour from Carnforth ! I have looked at the log book in the picture and I can see the address but I can't get the name. Someone seems to have imported the car sometime before that and since then it doesn't seem to have turned a wheel but it has been up for sale a number of times. I love the look of it and I realise it's not going to win any prizes but it should be fun and a bit different. I wish I could find someone who knows the car!
