The GTX3076 is a great little turbo thats what i've got fitted to my Cossie it makes 590bhp at the flywheel i'm pretty sure that'll be over 500 at the wheels.
They flow enough air for 640bhp if you really want to push them.
They like a 1.06 turbine housing as you tend to get abit of surge with the .82

Quick update:

S2 fully stripped
80 2 door partially stripped
CQ bought but awaiting stripping
Possibility of sharing a jig
Various lights sourced
Instruments sourced
Seats sourced (but one damaged so awaiting replacement)

...and now the exciting bit...

Just ordered a full house 07k crate engine from Hank Iroz with lots of retro CNC bling. Still a VAG 5 pot but about 65lbs lighter, 300cc larger and 30 years younger than the I5. Quite a bit shorter too so we can get the weight further back and fit a bigger intercooler and sensible radiator.

Not sure of which turbo yet - Hank is suggesting the HTA 3071 which has a trick billet wheel. We plan to Dyno the engine with a few different turbos and then pick the best one (or maybe two - we will use V band couplings so the turbo can be switched in half an hour and we can have multiple maps ).

Not much to show by way of pictures yet but will update when we have something. The slicing, splicing and dipping starts in Feb...

Bit more by way of an update on the Sport Quattro build project.

All the donor cars are now stripped. Good few days toil but no nasty surprises. The German LHD 80 was in fantastic condition with almost no rust. The 80 has now been chopped in half ready for dipping later this week. The CQ would have been chopped but the plasma cutter packed up. Hopefully that will also be going for dipping this week along with the suspension subframes (if I can get them stripped down in time). The subframes are being galvanised so we need to get them squeaky clean.

Placed a deposit on the engine which is being built and dyno'd in the US. The attached pic isn't my actual engine but is a carbon copy of what it will look like.

Other than that, I've been sourcing various bits - mostly daft things like lights and reflector strips which are no longer available from Audi and are daft prices when you find them. Hey ho.

Key question for now is to paint it red or white - answers on a post card please...

Making good progress Clive!

Hey Chris - if you're lucky Clive may be so engrossed in the quattro build that you'll have the wraith all to yourself this year.......

PS - I always loved the short-sport quattro in dark green (almost BRG)

I was worried that when the car appears at its first even it will seem smaller than the pictures

Mercy!

Just how much bigger can Libre over 2 litres get?

If you are out at the start this year I think this makes the class an 8 car, maybe 9 car class.
Looks like a Point=less year in many ways...

Hmmm: sell the fresh Lola and return to my little 911 but on slicks, and retire a year early on the proceeds!

Actually feeling a bit depressed now.

Still, I applaud the progress, and that engine looks killa!

If it is too hot in the kitchen, get out....
