I think the penalty was a little harsh considering no-one actually complained.

I usually just get changed into my romper suit next to my car, usually exposing my splendid undercrackers. Not had a complaint yet. A few, though, have swooned at the splendidness of my undergarments (not).

But maybe I should be more careful incase it's captured on camera and put on face--book (seriously)!

I see on social media that some marshals are threatening to boycott Rally GB unless Jocks punishment is undone....

It is the world we now live in.
Doubt the person who posted the pic thought of these ramifications.

Penalty is very high imho, and the cost to the event with the threat of a Marshal's boycote is far reaching.

Maybe no race ban, donation to a local charity? (but as in recent news, not all charity donations are welcome under some circumstances).

A driver marshalling is to be commended.

The irony is that he is not banned from marshaling, only driving.

I see most folk oblivious to what is going on around them, their lives totally focused on a small screen held permanently in front of their face. It's amusing sometimes, they walk into things, including other people, removing themselves from the gene pool when they walk into something of harm. The reason I no longer ride a motorcycle (on the road) is they're also staring at this damn screen continuously when 'driving', hence the shape of my left leg.
Problem arises when they do glimpse the outside world and see something 'unusual' that they will then record, that is then out there globally, out of context....
I'm very aware of folk now when taking a leak on the verge, an unavoidable frequent necessity now with advancing middle-age...
