Cheers Ray. I've a set of suspension potentiometers coming so I should be able to backup the theory with some real data.

It's a very interesting subject, and I'm enjoying all the insights and advice.

When changing springs, how many turns should I take to tighten the spring collar?

ie do I just wind them all say two full turns, so each damper has the same baseline pre-load on each spring?

The amount of turns will affect the ride height and corner weight so a baseline setting but you will still need to re corner weight the car and set ride height.

But of course you would already know that, so why the question?

Graham, depends what sort of preload you're looking for. I'd set them all the same to start with (by measured length springseat to springseat) and then fine-tune as required after track testing.
