Angelsey Week-end

Two great days of sprinting in somewhat contrasting conditions. Saturday was sunny bright and breezy whilst Sunday was wet and windy.

Saturday on the National circuit saw Craig Sampson take his first ever Top 12 victory with Mark Smith second. John Munro qualified in the 1100 OMS and at 16 years and 317 days old he is the youngest person ever to qualify for a British Top 12 Run-off (he finished 11th and picked up 4 points).

Sunday and on the International Terry Holmes was back on-form although Sampson & Smith were sidelined with a broken drive-shaft. Steve Miles took second and John Graham was third just like the day before. John Munro again qualified and finished eighth picking up 7 points.

Final Championship Points:

1. Colin Calder 110pts
2. Heather Calder 101pts
3. Mark Smith 93pts
4. Craig Sampson 88pts
5. Terry Holmes 85pts
6. Steve Miles 77pts
7. John Graham 72pts
8. Steve Broughton 53pts
9. Graham Porrett 47pts
10. Matt Hillam 43pts
11. Mike Musson 38pts
12. Jim Belt 33pts

Young John Munro is a star in the making and one to watch for the future. Another "Young Gun" to watch is Bradley Dickerson in his Jedi. He lowered the 1100 class record (Longton) for both the National and International Circuits last weekend after only two laps in practice and on last years well worn slicks to boot(pun intended)! That's an astounding feat particularly in a long in the tooth non-state of the art car with an off the shelf GSXR engine!
With talent like this aroundI guess us old fogies might as well pack up and go home

Richard

Can I tell him Dan?

Rich, kind words thank you. Certainly intrigued to see what could be done with fresh tyres, yeah. And I wish I could categorise myself as a 'young gun' too. I started with the 600cc 3 years ago now !

All credit to John as well - he's a great driver, and at such a young age. A bright bright future ahead indeed!

I've pm'd him Bradley. Although I'm no longer a 'young gun' at 33 ?as of yesterday) I only have 10 events under my belt! So still a relative novice.
You should probably take a year out Bradley as everyone's sick of you cleaning up each meet
