Seem to be a growth in these "Has been" events where they want cars that used to be competitive in their day but not the current ones. Almost a modern Classic type event, I'm not sure why they go in this direction ??

Web site for it says that a series of time trial events – which will be drawn from the British Automobile Racing Club’s (BARC) various championship series – will take place on the unique city centre sprint circuit carved out of Coventry’s ring road.

Time trials, sounds familiar, could that be a Sprint

If it is a none competitive event then insurance will be cheaper. The use of the words "time trial" smacks of trying to convince some body or other that it isn't competitive.

Could you just imagine what the H&S people would make of 50 of the top British hillclimbers being let loose at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the consequent bill for lord March to make the venue truly safe? Also how would all those F1 drivers & teams feel if the hillclimbers proved to be so much quicker than them up the hill?

As it is on the same weekend as the BHC round at SW there probably won't be too many cars from BARCs premier Speed championship.

by the way the VSCC use the term time trial to describe the afternoon frolics at the Pomeroy trophy i.e. a 40 minute merry go round on the GP circuit at Silverstone . number of laps achieved versus number of laps predicted gives the result .
