So looks as if +- 0.5 kg is around the tolerance.

From my understanding of the hand laid up process this would seems reasonable.

Just measured another set of Toyo R888r on way home.

11.78, 11.77, 11.77, 11.84 kg (but that one was a bit dirty).

Amazing reproducibility.

Would be interesting to get some data for slicks?

Interesting that a 20mm wider tyre weighs 1kg more.

Remoulds may not all be on the same casing, so I'd suggest the variance in weight would indicate the base casings are not the same. This may well cause different handling characteristics and the casings will deflect differently. I'd not be happy with this on a competition car.

Everyone had the same doom and gloom views about the Extreme VR2's when they went on the 1B list at the start of 2017, people saying you'll be dead at the side of the track upside down on fire using remoulds for competition use!

Then drivers started breaking class records with them and now plenty of people in Road Going Classes are switching to them.

I have to say they are an incredible tyre and are the same if not better than the Avon ZZR's in A24 compound and a 3rd of the price to boot.
