weight variance one set tyres

Hi, ive just bought a set of 4 new tyres, all same size, and the weight of each varies quite a lot, over 1kg across the set of 4.

Anyone got s set of 4 same size preferably new to share some weight measurements?

Thanks

Rob

Are they remoulds?

If not, then someone's quality control is seriously lacking.

I'd rather not say at the moment until the variability can be put into context of whats normal / expected.

225/40/18 GG compound R888R, all 4 between 10.88 and 10.94 kg. Weighed on my up to 30kg parcel scale, so reasonably accurate and repeatable.

Just had a new fresh set of AVON slicks fitted this morning.

The amount of balance weights needed this time is roughly 50% more than the tyres that came off.
I don't think there is a close tolerance on tyre weight (or symmetry) on specialist tyres or processes esp remoulding onto an old carcase.
Different if the tyres are Repmobile tyres as the manufacturing is in mass volume using multiple tools and strictly down to well controlled processes on all materials from the very start.

Will 1 Kg make any real difference to the car on previous tyres (if that is your worry)?
