I've glue repaired (good old Araldite) a pin hole on one of these rims and it is still good after 7 years, but on this rim the leak rate has grown over the last 3 to a point where it gets a pain.
If the weld goes beyond the crack, and I presume the Vee ground in the crack is filled then the repair should be tight.
Do you think the rim will be distorted after weld?
Glue will not stop the crack propagating further, so eventually it will leak again or be prone to a gross failure?
There must me a lot of strain ar that point by the tyre bead.

The wheel went to Ian Jemison up by York 10 days ago and returned yesterday all welded and dressed.
The tyre is still on the wheel so air tightness can be checked.
Left Ian with 25 psi in, 2 days later in my garage, 25psi.
Repair area is painted locally with special primer for non ferrous metals and satin black Smoothrite.

Dropped the pressure to 20psi and it is still 20, so I think this is a result.

Total cost inc DPD shipping (excellent company), welding and return post = £86, 10 days from start to finish.

The wheel is in 'stores' now, good to have the full set of 4 again of these very very rare wheels.
