Modified Series Production & FHR devices

I currently run in A1 in the SW but i am thinking of moving into C1, as my car gets slowly modified I wanted to check and see if I can enter as it is now.

I already have a Bucket seat and a 6 point harness fitted along with a cage but I wanted to check is a FHR mandatory as I have been reading the 2018 blue book and cant find any mention to say it is mandatory for Modified Series Production cars.

Can anyone clarify this for me?

Many thanks
Darren

No you don't need a HANS until you hit the dizzy heights of modified production as I did this year!

See S.9.2.1 on page 340

.......An FIA approved FHR device, fitted in accordance with FIA regulations is mandatory for all drivers with the exception of Period Defined Vehicles, Road-going Series Production Cars and Road-going Specialist Production Cars.

For c1 mod prod the answer is yes you need a fhr, but if it is pre 1977 then you don’t have to have one for mod prod.

Thank you all, as Roy confirmed yes I do need one in the SW.

Ben are you using the Mini next year? If you are I might stick in road going

At the moment the mini is not too healthy there was more broken bits from 2016 we keep finding. We have some plans but it may mean that the mini may only touch the south west hills at National time ????. Maybe the Jedi will play in the southwest championship, we will see, mini is still preferred. It’s definitely more fun.
