The purchase of a lathe has accelerated the project.

Picture below illustrates current state.

The 8 inlet manifold to carb transitions are made, so carbs ready to fit plus operating mechanism for which I am using some parts from the original carbs. Have also made , by spinning on the lathe, 8 inlet trumpets complete with filter screen. Material cost about £15.

The rotating disc with 8 Hall effect sensors is made currently with slots to allow rotation from 4 to 16 degrees BTDC. I can add a manual or auto advance/retard if required. The magnet will fit onto the starter ring.

The MW ignition has arrived, coils fitted to new brackets on cyl. head.

Petrol supply/return + carb diaphragm air manifolds made and fitted ready for pipes.

Waiting for all the steel parts I have made and tack welded together to be expert welded.

Its all coming together. Waiting for delivery (from USA) of the double roller bearing for the crankshaft. Decided to replace original.

Plan is to get engine fully assembled and into car so I can sort out all the wiring.

The V8 is now coming together. Just made the carb operating system so all 8 connected to a single cable pull. The Hall effect based ignition system is finished, just the wiring to do - not my best skill.

Just about ready for inserting the V8 into the car with all fuel pipes connected plus priming system for startup.
Green = 4psi from tank to carb diaphragm
Yellow = return to tank
white = carb diaphragm pulse from crankcase.

No engine rotation - no fuel drawn by the carbs. So priming system for startup has manual bulb to prime - just like a lawnmower!!

Just received the missing lower bonnet skirt to the splitter. Found the fellow with the original GRP pattern (from 1994) - fitted perfectly.

Project big day yesterday - fully assembled engine now located in chassis, front mounting made, just a plate to replace the plywood. The two 3" exhausts exit the side of the car.

With the engine located, I can start looking at assembly of the transmission - rear end, etc.
None of my previous cars had wings. This Prosport has a large adjustable angle rear wing attached via two vertical struts to the rear of the transmission.

Whilst I am rebuilding everything I would like to insert "Load cells" within the support struts plus a digital display so I can have some idea of the wing effects, which angle of wing is better etc.

Anyone done this? or can advise expected downforce so I can purchase correct size load cells.
