The DTA S100 can do full gearbox control including down shift blips.

Yeah it was my understanding that blipping on downshifts gives the best of both - you unload the dogs to initiate the change and also assist the engine in picking up revs once the change is complete. I assume the same principle works in reverse by having an ignition cut for upshifts.

I'm still a little confused as to why so much advice out there seems to say both clutch dipping and throttle blipping are required when the advice from Hewland (for example) says otherwise! I'll stick the advice I gave the owner and rely on the blipper unless it causes a problem.
