My own experience is that they need a heat cycle through them and then they are good. In March I did 8 consecutive laps of Curborough with it around 12c. First 3 laps , lots of understeer, next three improving but still some, last two on the money. I've had some that work straightaway but most seem to need some usage before working properly.

New doesn't always mean fresh unfortunately. I had some "new" Avons that were utter rubbish and on further investigation with the factory when they ran the numbers it turned out they were already a year old! Needless to say the second ones they supplier sent were much better

I have had quite a few very poor A15 rears in recent years.
Last years were worse than some 3 year old well worn intermediates which I used for the last two events.
Any time I grumble I am just told that nobody else has mentioned any problem !
One pair a couple of years ago were so bad that I bought another new pair after only three hillclimbs.

I would do an gentle start/80% speed run for 1st practice on a new set, then leave them for run off use later that day

I think its called stock rotation. They try to get rid of the oldest stuff in stock first. I think it makes a difference if you make a point of asking for ones from their newest delivery when buying them so they know that you wont put up with it

How do you know how old they are? I'm getting another set of fronts for Aintree since I've destroyed the new ones I bought in April for £550! As I'll be collecting them in person from BMTR...

I grumbled loudly when I ordered new ones last month, and told them that the last few sets were crap.
This lot are great - perhaps grumbling works !
