Currently building the new car, with the hope and intention it’s ready for 2018.

Engine, turbo and ecu moving across from the road car, few tweaks and hopefully 300kg lighter than the road car. Back to mod prod spec with the weaknesses of the old mod prod car ironed out.

Time will tell I guess, fingers crossed!

To throw another one right into the mix one of our members has heard some speculation about a new GR59 with a 2.4 ex-F1 V8.

Anyone else heard that or is it just wild rumour?

Earlier in the year, Sean talked about fitting a mecachrome v8 to one of the "spare" 59 tubs sitting idle at Gould's worshop - guess that's the other half of that rumour then?

1100 class is going to be fun; more fast youngsters to keep us on our toes.

That's another "Oh bugger!" from me then!!!

Ought to be a fun class if the rumoured Audi comes out to play with a bigger engine, along with both of the Northern Scoobies...........

Hope that's true - umpteen million rpm little v8 should sound fantastic, a bit of Wiki research suggests the later generation 2.4 v8's are about 20 kgs lighter than the Indycar type (Wallace?) units. I guess the challenge will be making it work reliably on the hills - Junior would probably have some thoughts on that!!
