Anglesey Sprint 3rd / 4th Oct (Longton)

Longton & District MC will once again hold their sprint weekend at Anglesey Trac Mon on 3rd / 4th Oct. These are two separate sprints held on different layouts.

Sat 3rd Oct will comprise 1¾ lap of the National Circuit with a total approximate length of 2.0 miles. A great layout that is very popular with a fast run downhill into School corner and up to Rocket.

Sun 4th Oct is a totally NEW layout which promises to be very fast and exhilarating, using Corkscrew for the first time. It comprises 1¾ laps, combining the Coastal layout on the first lap, including the Corkscrew, then ending on the International layout, with a total approximate length of 3.1 miles.

The invited championships are:

Longton’s Northern Speed Championship & Longton’s Sprint Series
Association of North Western Car Clubs (ANWCC) Sprint Championship
Premier Power Lotus 7 Club Speed Championship
Lancashire Automobile Club (LAC)
SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship
Westfield Sports Car Club (WSCC) Speed Series

If any group or club can bring alternative machinery (sand racers, rally cars, etc) then we will do our utmost to accommodate you with your own classes. Subject to entry numbers, of course.

Closing date is 19/20th Sept. Apply on line via the Longton website.

Craig Powers, Comp Sec

I have been asked to clarify the layouts being used, mainly by people with small fuel tanks

These links will give you the two layouts.

Saturday, 1.75 laps of the National layout

Sunday 2 laps of the Coastal / International Layout.

I am unsure how many runs we will get. There is a trade off between the longer runs and less starts (which take time), then the possible loss of time due to red flag incidents. Then there is the variable of the October weather. I wouldn't want to guess at how many runs.

All I can say is we will push hard to run a slick event.

I am never disappointed with the amount of runs at a LDMC event
